The Steam Locomotive Engineer Experience!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the Engineer on a vintage steam locomotive? To feel the power of the mighty Iron Horse at your fingertips. To blow the whistle and ring the bell and wave at the crowd on the ground.
Now you can experience this for yourself by signing up for the Steam Locomotive Engineer Experience at Williams Grove!
The Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association is proud to present the opportunity for you to run our former Pennsylvania Railroad B4a 0-6-0 #643. Built in 1901 in the PRR’s own shops in Altoona PA 643 has been a favorite at Williams Grove since 1961.
How it Works:
When you arrive you will soon be in the cab of 643, in the heart of the smells and sounds that make a steam locomotive so exciting. Our qualified locomotive crew will then teach you the basics of how to operate the locomotive, and then you will take her out on our mile of track! Slots are available in 30 minute increments, and you can book more than one slot if you like.
